The Joint Anatomy Education Portfolio, in A3 size ( 16" x 11" ) illustrates the anatomical structures of the following major joints of the body: the Ankle, Knee, Hip, Wrist and Hand ( 2 charts ) , Elbow, Shoulder and the Spine ( 2 charts ). Each joint chart shows and identifies the bones, ligaments, muscles and tendons. Also a definition of the joint , ( eg the Ankle joint is a synovial hinge joint ) , is given, together with an explanation of the muscles that are responsible for producing each movement of the joint. Coupled with that is information about daily activities which involve these muscles working during the joint action.The revision sheets provide the student with questions about how the joint works and requires the bones, ligaments, muscles and tendons in each joint to be named. There are two charts in the set which describe, firstly the anatomical structure of the spine and secondly the spinal cord and the major peripheral nerves. The revision sheets contain illustrations of individual vertebrae as well as diagrams of the spine and major muscles, superficial and deep, that are involved in spinal movement.The last two charts in this section ask you to name the peripheral nerves and spinal cord and describe what the cerebrum, cerebellum, brachial plexus and lumbosacral plexus are repsonsible for.
