MORE ABOUT THIS BOOK

Main description:

Cardiac arrhythmias are often tricky and intimidating for the clinicians (cardiologists, internists), medical trainees (residents & fellows), nurses and technicians while working in out-patient and emergency departments. Authored by electrophysiologists, this text is meant for the clinicians to understand the mechanisms of origin of arrhythmias and their clinical presentation, make accurate diagnosis and select the most appropriate therapeutic interventions. Clinicians can use this guide for quick reference during clinics, ward rounds, and while in transit. Starting with palpitations and syncope, the chapters cover all types of arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, anti-arrhythmic drugs, rhythm management devices and common electrophysiologic procedures. Supported with numerous tracings, tables, flow charts, and bulleted clinical points, the book enables easier understanding of difficult concepts of arrhythmias, leading to a more rational approach to treatment. Chapter on electrophysiologic procedures covers basic information on the state-of-the-art invasive electrophysiologic study and ablation therapy helping readers understand how to utilize these advances in therapy.

Feature:

A quick reference guide for clinicians on how to identify and appropriately manage cardiac rhythm disorders in out-patient and emergency settings

As cardiac arrhythmias can often be intimidating for non-eletrophysiologists, this guide will provide them a concise overview of all varieties of rhythm disorders along with practice pearls for effective management

Evidence-based current recommendations on medication and electrophysiologic approaches
