Description
As the title implies, this book developed by the Musculoskeletal Infection Society covers topics related to infections of the various components of the musculoskeletal system.

Purpose
The purpose is to present the latest advances in the treatment of musculoskeletal infection.

Audience
Physicians and other healthcare professionals involved in treating patients with musculoskeletal infection are the intended audience.

Features
The book is organized in four sections each includes several chapters. The first section is general information about infection and bacteriology. The second section covers various diagnostic modalities including clinical laboratory tests and imaging. The third section describes treatment, and the fourth section is dedicated to individual common problems.

Assessment
In the tradition of other Orthopaedic Knowledge Updates from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, this one is well organized, easy to read, and authored by recognized experts. It is an outstanding reference on infection.
