Exhibition overview
This is the Annual Professional Conference of Diabetes UK which is the largest and most prestigious diabetes conference to take place in the UK each year.
The plenary session topics include:
• New outcome trials in Type 1 diabetes (eg the REPOSE study of insulin pumps and interventions to maintain beta cell function in Type 1 diabetes)
• Exercise and Type 2 diabetes (including a scientific overview of muscle biology by Juleen Zierath, Editor-in Chief of Diabetologia),
• The clinical and basic science of incretins.
The prestigious Diabetes UK Named Lectures and Rank Nutrition Lecture will all be delivered by leading academics nominated by colleagues and elected by the Diabetes UK Healthcare Professional Groups, while the ‘hot topics’ sessions on Friday present the most recent exciting research from the diabetes clinics around the world.
Finally this year there will be a stand-alone workshop track over all three days, to provide hands on training and structured education from leading experts, including psychosocial and dietetic aspects of care.
