Exhibition overview
The European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) was founded in 1964 with the aim of “advancing and exchanging knowledge concerning the causes, natural history, treatment and prevention of atherosclerotic disease”. Its goal is to provide a framework for concerted scientific and clinical discussion of new developments in basic research, diagnosis and therapy of atherosclerosis.
EAS organizes a three-day scientific congress in a different European
country each year, in close collaboration with the national atherosclerosis society of the host country. The congresses are attended by approximately 2000
delegates, which include basic and clinical scientists, clinicians and
practitioners with interest in cardiovascular diseases. Each congress features
plenary sessions with lectures given by distinguished speakers, in-depth
workshops on cutting-edge topics, and a wide variety of symposia and satellites
on various issues in the field.
In 2014, the 82nd European Atherosclerosis Society Congress will take place in Madrid, Spain in May/June.
