FAQs

General

Q: How do I know which exhibitions Wisepress are attending?

A: Our exhibition schedule lists all exhibitions we are planning to attend up to 18 months ahead. You can sort the list by start date, subject, location or Wisepress exhibition code.

Q: The conference I want to attend is not on your Exhibition Schedule. Can you add it?

A: Let us have as much detail about the conference as possible and how many titles you might like to send. We will contact other publishers in the field, and, if there is sufficient support, we'll add it to the Exhibition Schedule.

Q: How do I exhibit with Wisepress?

A: Contact our marketing department and we'll tell you exactly what you need to know.

Q: How do I know if an author is speaking at a medical conference? I don't want to be caught out and not include their books in our display!

A: Register for our author alerts and we'll send you up-to-the-minute speaker lists of all conferences where we are exhibiting so that you can be prepared.

Q: I'm an author speaking at a medical conference soon. How can I make sure my publisher has my books on display?

A: Email us and let us know your plans. And, it's always good to contact your publisher just to make sure.

Organising an Exhibition with Wisepress

Q: I've booked an exhibition with you. How many books/journals should I send?

A: For books, you need to consider how recent it is, how relevant it is to the conference topics and the prominence of the authors. You also need to think about how many delegates are attending, and where they're from - we find that international delegates, without good access to specialist bookshops are much better book buyers than delegates from Northern Europe. For journals: you need to consider how well established the journal is, as well as the number and geographic spread of the delegates. Contact Samantha Glover if you need further help.

Q: How much information do you need about a book I'm planning to send to an exhibition with you?

A: At the very least we need the following: Author, Title, ISBN, Pub Date, Price. We'd prefer to know more - anything you would expect your own staff to know. Is the author speaking? Is this a major new book? What are the competing titles? What are the key features that make your title stand out from the crowd? If it's a new edition, what changes have been made? The more we know the better we can represent your title to your customers.

Q: How much information do you need about a journal I'm planning to send to an exhibition with you?

A: We need to know at least the ISSN, Title, Frequency and Subscription Rates. Any other information you can give us to help promote your journal to your market is very welcome.

Q: Some of our editors are planning to attend a conference we've booked with you. Can they work from the stand?

A: Yes, they are very welcome. Let us know their names so Samantha Glover can arrange conference badges for them.

Q: I want to visit an Exhibition in person. What should I do?

A: Contact Samantha Glover in our marketing department.

Q: Help! I've missed the Wisepress delivery deadline and I need to get books to a conference urgently. What should I do?

A: Contact us and we'll see what we can do to help.
