The BNPA, as part of their aim of providing the main UK forum for bringing together different disciplines of the clinical brain sciences are delighted that their 28th Annual Meeting will be held jointly with the association of British Neurologists, the British Psychological Society’s Division of Neuropsychology and the UK Function Symptoms Research Group.
Exhibition details
The topics to be explored will include:The ‘how’ and the ‘why’ patients get functional symptoms and
then what to do about them.
The neuropsychiatry of body image including phantom phenomenology,
alien limb, neglect and anorexia.
Also memory disorders including what to do about subjective memory complaints in the routine clinic,
the pathology of positive memory experiences such as déjà vu and flashbacks, new understandings
of memory systems, and what is new on transient global amnesia.
This year’s debate will explore the benefits and the dangers of engaging with patient groups over complex topic of functional symptoms.
There will be diagnostic master classes on functional disorders and cognitive disorders.
