MEET THE AUTHOR

Richard C. Semelka, MD, is one of the foremostauthorities on MRI of the abdomen and pelvis, with six MRItext–books and over 200 peer–reviewed papers to his credit. Dr.Semelka has also authored numerous chapters and review articles onMRI of the body, and has presented his work at meetings around theworld. Dr. Semelka is the Director of MR Services, Professor andVice Chair for Research, Department of Radiology, University ofNorth Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Jorge Elias, Jr, MD, PhD, is a professor in the Divisionof Radiology, Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicineof Ribeirao Preto, University of São Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Eliaswas trained in Brazil and the United States and has a keenunderstanding of the US healthcare system in the internationalcontext.
